Some stories redefine what strength means—and this is one of them.
Lauren sits down with Tyler and Stacie, founders of The Stand & Fight Foundation, a nonprofit based in Erie, Colorado that was born from their family’s journey after their 8-year-old daughter, Emerie, was diagnosed with Juvenile Dermatomyositis (JDM)— a rare autoimmune condition that causes muscle weakness, inflammation, and painful skin rashes in children.
What began as months of uncertainty evolved into a mission grounded in hope, community, and resilience. Through Emerie’s courage, their family found purpose: helping other children and families facing life’s hardest battles at Children’s Hospital Colorado feel supported, empowered, and never alone through their Stand & Fight Boxes.
This episode is a powerful reminder that wellness isn’t just physical—it’s emotional, mental, spiritual, and deeply relational. It’s about how we show up for ourselves, for one another, and for our community during the moments that matter most.
In this episode, we explore:
- How the family navigated one of life’s hardest battles and what wellness looked like during their healing process.
- The meaning behind Stand & Fight and how it became both a motto and a mission.
- The inspiration behind Stacie’s children’s book, Stand and Fight – Overcoming the Giants in the Land.
- How community connection and mindset play a vital role in recovery and resilience.
- Ways to support their foundation locally through King Soopers Rewards, 52 Native, and direct donations.
